Owner Jake Walton, 31, of Kirton, said the decision was taken due to rising business costs.

He said: “I am incredibly grateful for the loyalty and support our customers have shown, the dedication of the staff and the many relationships we've built over the years.

“Unfortunately, the economic conditions are not in favour of small businesses and those challenges have made it too difficult to continue operations.”

Mr Walton had been part of the business for a total of 13 years but had purchased it four years ago.

The firm was started in 1970 when it was known as Geest Print. It became Welland Print in 2001.

Last week we reported that a consultation is underway with staff at Bookmark.
