Dwelling at Chancery Lane, Holbeach approved by South Holland District Council despite privacy and parking concerns

Plans to build a new town dwelling were passed despite parking and privacy concerns.

South Holland District Council’s planning committee had already passed the application for a residential development at Chancery Lane, Holbeach - but brought it back for reconsideration at last Wednesday’s meeting to iron out ambiguities.

The proposal, submitted by J Belsham, D Woods and S Dawson through Cooper Architectural Design, was voted through by ten councillors.

A number of issues had been raised by neighbours due to overlooking from windows at the new property, which will be higher due to the current level of flood prevention measures at the site. Coun Allan Beal said he was still concerned about parking at the site, with a number of garages being demolished, forcing vehicles to park on the street.

Coun Peter Coupland said he visited Chancery Lane and had similar worries, and asked planning officers for their suggested solution. Coun Roger Gambba-Jones also discussed bin collections on the street, urging residents to leave room for collection vehicles.
