Proposal to reduce Gosberton Post Office opening hours in High Street Co-op
A village post office could be reducing its opening hours to ‘make the service more sustainable’.
Gosberton Post Office Counter, which is located within the village’s Co-op store, could only be operating during the morning and one afternoon a week under the new proposal.
The counter within the High Street store is proposed to be open 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays. It will also be operating from 2pm to 5.30pm on Mondays.
Wayne Dennett, Travel and Post Office Group Manager, said: “We recognise Post Offices as an important community service, and reducing the hours in Gosberton Post Office will help to make the service more sustainable.”
“When planning these hours, we selected the Post Office’s busiest time frame, to ensure that we meet the needs of as many people as possible.”
Gosberton residents will still be able to use the Post Office in neighbouring Quadring which is open from 9am-6.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am-2pm on Saturdays.
