Public can now rent privately-owned swimming pool in Sutterton
A privately-owned swimming pool has been given permission to operate as a business.
Applicants Mr and Mrs B. Wilkinson have been given the ok to rent out the White Lilac pool at Station Road, Sutterton for public use.
The White Lilac website describes the pool as: “Perfect for families. A quite haven, warm, clean swimming pool without the hustle and bustle of a conventional public swimming pools.”
The 10x5m pool has a depth of 0.8m to 1.6m, while the complex also includes a four-person sauna, ‘retro” style jacuzzi and large walk-in shower.
Prices begin at £20 for one person to enjoy a 70-minute swim, or £37.50 for four swimmers.
Up to eight customers can swim for two hours and 15 minutes for £100, while there is no charge for under twos.
Permission was granted by Boston Borough Council.
“Full planning permission is sought to change the use of the single-storey building from a domestic swimming pool to combined residential and business use,” the officer’s report stated.
“This change of use has already been implemented, and involves the use of the swimming pool by members of the public as well as by the dwelling’s residents.”
