Public safety and tackling antisocial behaviour among new South Holland police inspector’s priorities
The new head of policing in South Holland says keeping the area safe and tackling antisocial behaviour remain among his priorities.
Insp Matt Dickinson has taken over the reins from Insp Nick Waters this month.
“I have a strong uniformed policing background having worked in response and neighbourhood policing as both a PC and sergeant,” Insp Dickinson said.
“Throughout my career I have seen some changes to policing, however the priority is and always has been how we can work together to keep our communities safe, prevent criminality and tackle antisocial behaviour.
“My commitment is to continue this work in partnership, to make those who wish to cause harm to others be held to account for their actions, put victims first and ensure South Holland continues to be a safe place to live, work and visit.”
Insp Dickinson has previously been based at nearby Boston, where he received an Area Commander's Commendation after helping a man who was attempting to jump off a bridge.
His calm approach led the man to safety after 20 minutes of negotiation.

Insp Dickinson, who has been a police officer for almost 18 years, added: “I look forward to working with the community and partners in continuing the good work the existing team are doing to keep our communities safe.”
