Bumper crowds enjoy Spalding's Pumpkin Celebration
Spalding town centre came alive over the weekend as a celebration gave families ‘pumpkin’ special to do.
South Holland District Council’s communities team organised the Pumpkin Celebration on Saturday which brought in a bumper crowd of people.
The traditional pumpkin parade was replaced this year with live music, entertainment and a host of stalls across the town centre.
Families were entertained by Polka Dots Pantomimes along with Bourne Borders Morris Dancing Troupe plus a number of local musicians took to the outdoor stage.
Visitors were able to try their hand at decorating pumpkins plus there was a scarecrow competition.
A total of 13 shops took part in the window dressing competition which was won by Hughes Electrical.
Coun Gary Taylor, who is the portfolio holder for communities and facilities, was delighted with the success of the event.
He said: “It was a busy day and the atmosphere was amazing.
“We have had lots of positive comments from people about the event.”
