Market Deeping Community Primary School celebrates football and Lego awards
A school is celebrating its sporting and engineering successes after clinching three awards.
Two teams of Lego fanatics from Market Deeping Community Primary School entered a design competition led by staff from Park Air Systems.
The First Lego League tournament challenged them to build a Lego robot which could complete a number of different tasks.
Eight other teams took part, including five made up of secondary school pupils, with the Market Deeping children claiming second and forth place.
They were awarded trophies for their robot tactics and innovation in their solution to help the site manager move items around the school.
The school football team is also celebrating after winning the county championships in Skegness.
The under 11s team qualified to take part in the final after beating other schools in and around Market Deeping.
They will now compete in the regional championships later this year.
Headteacher Mark Ratchford said: "Our children have achieved some great feats in competitions with other schools.
"The football team's achievement was a real testament to their teamwork and commitment as they got all the way to the final without conceding a goal.
"It has been great for the pupils to get competitive sports and events back up and running after so long.
"It's wonderful to see how well the children at Market Deeping Community Primary School have done."
