Railway barrier at Winsover Road, Spalding back in working order after 'barrier pack replaced'

A town railway barrier is back in working order after failing for more than three hours last night.

The barrier at Winsover Road in Spalding got stuck shortly before 6pm yesterday evening due to a part needing to be replaced.

Police attended the scene to tell drivers to find another way to their destination, but long queues still ensued along the street and the adjacent St Thomas' Road.

A Network Rail spokesperson said the barriers were working again under manual control by 7.30pm - and that they were fully repaired by 9.40pm after a 'barrier pack needed replacing'.

They apologised for the delays caused.
