Brewing up a storm in Spalding, Moulton Chapel, Moulton and Holbeach for Macmillan Cancer Support
Coffee and cake were on the menu as venues across the area put their support behind a popular charity.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raises cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.
And once again there was plenty of backing from the district.
Moulton Chapel Community Centre, Holbeach Health Clinic, Spalding Methodist Church, Moulton Harrox Sports and Social Club and Holbeach’s Caffe Aurora all took part in the fundraiser.
More than £1.3 million has already been raised - enough to fund 21 Macmillan nurses for a year - nationally, with plenty more money yet to come in.
“It was our best event yet, with lots of people coming,” said Gill Nottingham, who has organised the event at Spalding Methodist Church for 10 years.
Mrs Nottingham says that the latest event was the most impressive in terms of visitors and funds raised.
Friday’s coffee morning raised around £350 with the final total still being added to.
“It was good to see so many people coming, especially in this day and age,” she added.
“You never know when you may need them yourself. We spoke to people this year who have experience of Macmillan and are very grateful to them.”
Pupils and staff at University Academy Long Sutton raised £242 by selling cakes, cookies and hot chocolate.
