Recycling advice given after flytipped sex doll discovered on Spalding street

The discovery of a sex doll dumped on the streets of Spalding has prompted an appeal for people to think twice about where they should ‘toss’ their waste.

Volunteer litter pickers had found the rather grubby looking doll of a female torso with large breasts earlier this week - which was later collected and disposed of by South Holland District Council’s street cleaning team.

This is not the first dirty discovery made by volunteers in the area. The Wombles in Sutton Bridge has uncovered a pair of fake silicon breasts along with a host of sex toys are they cleared up the laybys along the A17.

The council has been waging a long running battle against the issues of flytipping and people putting out their bin bags days ahead of their collection — but hopes this will spark a fresh debate about how to correctly dispose of your rubbish.

A South Holland District Council spokesperson has thanked the volunteers for the great work they do to keep the town tidy.

The spokesperson added: “We cannot overinflate the serious issue of discarded waste and would ask all residents, before they toss it, to consider the right place to stick it.”

The council’s website includes tools on what can go into our rubbish bags with non-recyclable used items, such as personal protective equipment or rubber gloves — the nearest comparison we could find — advised to go in a black bag.

Electrical items and batteries should not be placed in the black bin sacks and should be taken to the town tip.

Rubbish sacks should be placed in front of your home at 6am on the day of your collection. To find out when the collection day is see the council’s website.
