Spalding recycling centre warns it cannot currently accept specific item
South Holland’s waste recycling centre has warned residents it is currently unable to accept a specific item.
Lincolnshire County Council – which runs the site – however, hopes the issue will be short term.
A statement read: “Spalding Household Waste Recycling Centre are currently unable to accept garden waste.
“We anticipate they will be able to accept it again later today and will keep you updated.”
LCC recently used this paper to explain to resaidents why some items are not temporarily accepted.
“We put out messages when we can’t accept certain waste types temporarily to try to avoid residents turning up to get rid of those specific items and finding they can’t,” a council spokesperson said.
“As we can never know what items residents are looking to bring to their local recycling centre, we sometimes get more of a certain type of waste than we usually would.
“And once the container is full we’re unable to accept any more of that type of waste until we’re able to get it emptied by our contractor.”
