Replacement for Two Plank Bridge in Spalding, has been installed, following a two year wait for users
A popular pedestrian footbridge is finally being re-installed.
The long awaited replacement of Two Plank Bridge in Spalding, is being put in place, after a two year wait for residents.
Lincolnshire County Council removed the previous bridge in March 2022, and had said there would be an 18-month closure whilst construction work on the northern section of Spalding Western Relief Road, took place.
It is not currently open for use — with fencing around the site — but the arrival of the new structure has already received a positive reaction on social media.
The bridge was previously a popular route between Pinchbeck and Spalding and used by dog walkers and school children. The long delay in replacing the old wooden bridge was due to the nearby work on the northern section of the Spalding Western Relief Road.
