Plans to tidy up Long Sutton eyesore The Bull
Plans are hoped to be submitted to tidy up a South Holland eyesore later in the year.
Alan Finch has been appointed to to create a scheme for The Bull Hotel in Long Sutton.
Mr Finch says his workload has meant that he has been unable to submit the scheme so far but is hoping to have the plans lodged with South Holland District Council by the autumn.
While the plans for the derelict building are in their infancy, the scheme is due to be residential with an element of retail.
Mr Finch said that the land owner is still committed to developing the site.
He said: “Nothing has changed but it has literally been down to my work load to get a scheme put together.
“One of the things I have to go to is re-draw the survey plans because the building has changed since then.”
Plans for the Bull were due to be submitted at the end of last year and in the spring.
The Bull has stood empty at the entrance of Long Sutton’s pretty Market Place for more than 30 years.
But in its heyday, the hotel had welcomed the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip and a regular visitor was actor James Robertson Justice, who played Lord Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The new owner had undertaken some work to secure the site last year following some anti-social behaviour.
