Spalding's South Holland Centre restaurant closes
The Italian restaurant in Spalding's South Holland Centre has closed its doors - with talks under way to find a new catering contractor at the venue.
The top floor Moninna’s Ristorante and Pizzeria and the first floor Platter and Pour cafe/cocktail bar both closed at the end of a six month trial period at the end of March.
South Holland District Council is now holding talks to find a new catering contractor for the arts venue.
The restaurant and bar - which opened on October 1 - were brought to the town by Spalding-born Adam Noble, of Resolution Pubs.
Mr Noble said: "It's an interesting space - I don't feel that the restaurant particularly worked in that space. It's the first time that a restaurant was put in there and it didn't really work.
"It's just purely a space thing. The building has so many uses - for example if there's a function on you have to close the restaurant."
The full time team at Moninna's has been offered roles in Mr Noble's other businesses.
