Spalding branch of Frankie & Benny’s not among planned closures
The Spalding branch of a restaurant chain looks set to remain open for now.
The Restaurant Group, which owns Frankie & Benny’s, has not included the Camel Gate site in its latest list of closures.
Last month, this newspaper reported that the restaurant is up for sale with an £850,000 price tag, with the alternative option to lease the option.
However, in a list of 23 ‘potentially loss making’ restaurants set for closure released by the group, Spalding’s site is absent.
Nearby, Chiquito and two Frankie & Benny’s sites in Peterborough will be shutting their doors.
A statement from The Restaurant Group said: “We announced a review of our Leisure estate in March and made the difficult decision to exit some of our Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito and Firejacks sites.
“We are working closely with our impacted teams and will look to redeploy colleagues to neighbouring sites across our wider estate wherever possible.”
