Spar could be eyeing up former Holbeach library site
A well-known retailer could be eyeing up for a former library site to open a new branch.
Vijay Kumar Odedra has applied for a licence to sell alcohol from ‘Spar (former library), Church Street in Holbeach’, according to the applications on South Holland District Council’s website.
Lincolnshire County Council’s library service moved out of the Church Street building 2017 after the operations were moved into the Co-op Community Hub in Fleet Street.
A Freedom of Information request on the county council’s website says that the former library was placed on the market in 2020 and that a sale was completed in 2021. The sale price was £170,355.
