West Pinchbeck woman Laura Croft makes illustration debut in fourth book, Sky Boarders

A long-held ambition to see her artwork in print has been realised for full-time retail worker Laura Croft.

Sky Boarders, a graphic novel aimed at ages seven and over, is the fourth piece of work Laura has had published, but a first she has illustrated.

The fantasy adventure story set in outer space is based around seven children who find magical 'charms' which transport them to the magical planet Magiwo where they join a battle to save it from the evil Bad Bosses.

"My story was inspired by watching a lot of cartoons especially anime, when I was younger," she said.

"I've always wanted to publish a graphic novel and see my artwork in print. I enjoy drawing and have drawn, painted and outlined all the illustrations."

Laura, from West Pinchbeck, started creating her own graphic novel series aged 14 and has since produced 25 unpublished issues which can be found on her group page on Facebook.

Inspired by her love of fantasy adventure stories and sci-fi, Sky Boarders has been two years in the making, fitted in around a full-time job at Waitrose, in Stamford.

"I do plan to publish more books, but only in written novel format as graphic novels take too long to produce," Laura explained.

"I worked on it when I could but I spend most of my time at work and now have two dogs to look after and keep entertained."

It is available online through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, BooksAMillion and Walmart.
