Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge motorbike club to raise awareness of men’s mental health with fundraising event
A special fundraising event is due to take place later this year in a bid to raise awareness for men’s mental health.
The Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge motorbike group is putting on a bike night to take place on Monday, August 28. It will support Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
Passionate motorbike lover Chris McCabe said: “As a motorbike group we understand the risks involved when we choose to enjoy two wheels.
“Our choice to support Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance is very personal as we know that one day our lives may rely on them.”
The LS and SB motorbike group also aim to help raise awareness for men’s mental health and encourage people to speak more openly about how they feel.
After Chris and other members have battled with their own mental health struggles, the group have recognised the importance of doing something they love.
Chris said: “For bikers our release is when we ride. We are a family and as a group we support each other to be brave enough to speak out and ask for help.”
The group hope to raise around £200 for The 8:56 Foundation and Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
The evening will take place from 4pm to 8pm and everyone is welcome. For more information about the event visit the LS/LB Motorbike Group Facebook page.
