West Pinchbeck riding school launches fundraising appeal to help horses and ponies during lockdown

A popular riding school has launched a fundraising appeal to get through the latest lockdown.

Four Winds Equestrian Centre, in Leaveslake Drove, West Pinchbeck, like many businesses, is unable to trade as a result of the latest lockdown restrictions.

The centre, which has been helping children and adults to learn to ride for more than 40 years, is hoping clients and friends will help to support its horses and ponies.

A visit from the farrier costs £40 while a bag of feed is £12 with straw costing £2.50 a bale and £5 for hay.

A Facebook post stated: "As lockdown is to continue we are yet again asking our kind clients if they could help us with donations for the horses.

"Please feel free to donate whatever you can afford we have give you some examples. If you want to help go to our page fourwinds.ecpro.co.uk and go to donations."

The Association of British Riding Schools is calling on the Government to provide greater support to help riding schools survive.
