University Academy Long Sutton student Riley wins county 'Imp' competition
A Year 7 student from University Academy Long Sutton (UALS) has won a county-wide competition to design and paint a Lincolnshire Imp statue.
Several UALS Year 7s entered the contest and Riley Watson was the overall county winner.
Riley said that when he first drew the Imp he was thinking of crystals but then realised that what he had drawn looked like stained glass from the cathedral.
Riley’s completed imp is now on display at The Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln.
The competition entries were judged and chosen by Bishop Grosseteste University.
A school spokesman said: “We are very proud of Riley and his hard and creative work.”
