Holbeach road closed while engineers repair damaged pipe

Engineers repairing a damaged pipe has closed a Holbeach road for two days.

Anglian Water will be working throughout the night in Penny Hill to repair the damage which has closed the road between the A17 and Tolls Lane.

Police are warning motorists to avoid the area, which was also closed yesterday.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “We’re currently working to repair a damaged sewer on Penny Hill Lane near Holbeach.

"The road has been closed so our engineers can undertake this work safely. Teams will be working into the night to start the repair and once they’ve fully exposed the damaged pipe, we’ll have a better idea of how long the work will take.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this causes. We’ll be using tankers to take used water away, so customers can continue to use their toilets and washing machines as normal.”
