Spalding Flower Parade road closures and restrictions revealed as the big day approaches on May 10
Residents have been alerted to road closures that will be needed on Saturday in Spalding for the Flower Parade.
This year’s event will operate on a slightly changed route — with the parade to start and finish at Springfields Events and Conference Centre off Camelgate.
That means the floats will use Roman Bank before heading along Holbeach Road, Queen’s Road and Halmergate before passing over High Bridge, through the town centre and then
heading along Pinchbeck Road and West Elloe Avenue before returning to Springfields via Roman Bank.
A spokesman for the parade said: “The event will cause some disruption and inconvenience to local businesses and residents so we send our apologies in advance.
“We aim to keep all road closures to a minimum and will be operating a rolling scheme, meaning that once the parade has fully passed your road, where safe and possible, it will re-open.
“A traffic management and security company will be working together with Lincolnshire Police and The Spalding Flower Parade team to ensure that the town parade is managed safely and efficiently.”
The first floats are due to leave at about 11am and the event is due to last a couple of hours.
