Boston Road South in Holbeach set to be closed next week for investigation work

A busy road which has been plagued with a sink hole is due to be closed next week for further investigation work.

Lincolnshire County Council is looking to close Boston Road South in Holbeach on Thursday, June 13, after the significant dip had reappeared earlier this year.

The county and Anglian Water have spent thousands of pounds in recent years in trying to solve the resolve the problem but the dip keeps returning.

In April, the road was closed when tests were conducted to find out what is happening.

Issues with sinking in Boston Road South first began in 2019, but these were reported further up the street before moving down.

Excavations and repairs were undertaken in 2021.

And in 2022, the road underwent significant repair work which included Anglian Water relining the sewer.

More than £462,296 was spent on various investigations and works over the years, a Freedom of Information request revealed in 2022.
