Gedney Drove End saltmarsh and sea bank is still for sale
An area of saltmarsh on the edge of The Wash estuary in South Holland is still on the market nearly year after it was first listed for sale.
The 542-acre site, off Marsh Lane, Gedney Drove End, is partly leased by the Ministry of Defence as an "academic" air weapons range for RAF Holbeach.
It is also used by the Wildfowlers Association due to its status as part of the Wash National Natural Reserve.
As reported in the Lincolnshire Free Press in December 2019, Lincoln-based estate agents Savills described the £1,375,000-valued site as having "a variety of income streams, including, but not limited to, a lease on part to the Ministry of Defence, a Higher Level Stewardship agreement (a form of environmental management arrangement) and a lease to the local Wildfowlers Association".
"The saltmarsh and sea bank is a delightful place for wildlife and walkers alike," the sale brochure stated.
