Joint effort in Holbeach St Marks to rid playing field of litter
School pupils, staff and parents helped factory staff litter pick a village playing field.
Holbeach St Marks Primary school joined forces with Bakkavor Pizza to clear litter from the village playing field and clean the children’s play equipment.
School head Sally Massey said: “It was fantastic to be able to come together as a community again, have some fun, and teach the children the importance of taking care of their environment.
"Prior to Covid-19, the children had begun to plan their own social action events, so this was a great stepping-stone back to that.”
The school and Bakkavor often work together on projects to support the local community. Ian Williams, of Bakkavor Pizza, said: "We are always delighted to support the community. The children never fail to do their part, and make us laugh along the way.”
