Special needs pupils from Spalding Priory School, University Academy Long Sutton and Spalding Academy take part in Boccia tournament

Four teams of special needs pupils from three schools come together to play an exciting School Games boccia tournament.

Teams from Spalding's Priory School, University Academy Long Sutton and Spalding Academy took part in the competition, which was held at the Priory and organised by Agilitas Spoorts.

Boccia is a target game similar to bowls and is played in the paralympics. Most pupils hadn't played it before or had the opportunity to represent their school against other pupils.

Pupils picked up the rules and tactics quickly and a thrilling competition was enjoyed by all.

The Priory School provided six of their Year 10 sports leaders who did a fantastic job umpiring, scoring and measuring.

Spalding Academy came first, University Academy Long Sutton second and the two Priory School teams joint third.
