West Pinchbeck Primary School raise £900 at fun run

A fun run in memory of two women with a zest for life - who were both tragically taken too soon - has raised £900 for charity.

More than 100 runners lined up for the one-mile fun run organised by West Pinchbeck Primary School.

The run was held in memory of school PTA treasurer Celia Couling (46), who died in January after suffering a heart attack. Teresa Walton (55), who died following a road traffic accident last October, was also remembered by the school, which is attended by her nieces.

The fun run coincided with a Halmer Harriers 10K event, and was followed by a barbecue, refreshments, bouncy castle and games, with all the money raised split between Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and Breast Cancer Research.

Headteacher Sophie Ingle was thrilled with the support the fun run received and hopes it will become an annual event.

“It was a huge success,’ she added.

“Family and friends of Celia and Teresa, old and young, all came together to celebrate and remember them.

"The 10K runners were delighted with our barbecue and cake stall and we are looking forward to making the event an annual tradition.

“Fun and laughter was the order of the day, and we cannot wait to go even bigger and better next year!”
