A defensive pill box that has survived since the Second World War has been set alight.
At 3.50pm this afternoon (Saturday, November 9), firefighters from Spalding were called to the hexagonal concrete structure with gun slits, which stands off Horseshoe Road in Spalding.
Firefighters attending reported that a chair inside the building had been set on fire, and the damage inside was ‘severe’.
The crew used a water back pack to extinguish the blaze.
