Football-mad youngsters are set to have a ball at a new sports camp coming to South Holland.
Next year, DC Sports Academy business partners Dan Lester and Callum Lawe are hosting three-day soccer schools at Holbeach United Community Sports Academy’s Penny Hill facility.
These sessions will take place during the February half-term, with bookings already being taken.
They are open to boys and girls aged 7-14, with players of all abilities being urged to go along - the organisers’ main emphasis is on having fun.
Mr Lester said: “‘This is hopefully going to be the first of many holiday soccer camps.
“The whole idea is to make them as much fun as possible for the children involved.
“We want to keep the kids active and make it really enjoyable. Although there will be drills – they will be fun, as well as some fun games all based around football, with daily competitions and prizes too.
“The sessions will be completely inclusive – it doesn’t matter about ability, anyone is welcome. It’s all about having a good time and playing some football.”
The soccer school will keep youngsters busy from 8.30am until 3.30pm on each day, and will be run by UEFA and FA-standard coaches.
There will be 30 spots available for each day, with groups being kept at a reasonable size so everyone can get to know one another throughout the day.
Costs will be kept at £16 per day, with Mr Lester keen to offer affordable prices.
“We’re really excited to bring this to South Holland,” he added.
“There isn’t too much going on for children in the holidays, so we’re hoping the camps will be really successful.
“We’ve been doing some market research and it seems that activities for under 6s would also be popular, so we’re hoping to organise something for this age group next time too.”
