Shepherd’s hut catering unit can remain permanently on site in Wyberton
A mobile catering unit has been given permission to operate permanently from a popular visitor site.
The shepherd’s hut trades from Jenny’s Wood in Wyberton, an area popular with walkers and dog owners.
Applicant Mr Arundell wanted to permanently retain the existing mobile catering facility on the site, which was given the all-clear by Borough Council's planners.
Jenny’s Wood is an area of woodland which formed an extension to the Sir Joseph Banks Country Park and is managed by the Boston Woods Trust.
Planners ay the hut can serve members of the public between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
“The application site is within an existing car park that is associated with Jenny’s Wood on West End Road Wyberton,” the officer’s report read.
“The existing mobile catering van is sited to the north end of the car park located off West End Road.
“The car park has access immediately to the east of the van and also in the south east corner of the car park.
“The catering van is wooden in its exterior and has seating located to the front.
“Immediately to the west of the van is a footpath that leads through the woodland.”
Wyberton Parish Council had no objection to the request.
