Tribute singer Vikki Earle to perform as Not Taylor Swift at Spalding Flower Parade
A tribute singer is looking forward to performing at a town’s major event.
Vikki Earle, 32 from Liverpool - whose first tribute show was performing as Pink - will perform as Not Taylor Swift on the main stage following the Spalding Flower Parade on Saturday, May 10.
She narrowly missed meeting the real Taylor Swift - known for hit songs Love Story and Shake It Off - when Vikki entertained at a millionaire’s event and Taylor was due to pop in.
She said: “I was surprised he didn’t ask the real Taylor to perform.
“I was so close to meeting her - if I did I would say well done and thank you.
“I have never been to Spalding and I am looking forward to seeing a new area and making a day of it.”
Vikki has an acting and dance background and trained at Shockout Arts in Manchester.
She has performed in the West End and is a gymnast as well as being a singer.
Vikki said: “I always sang and played instruments.
“From the age of eight I was in a choir and my family can all sing.
“I started acting and have done lots of theatre and TV which lead me into tribute work.”
Vikki has worked as a Disney Princess and also been part of tribute groups for Little Mix and the Spice Girls.
She has focussed on her Not Taylor Swift act for the last year.
Vikki said: “I like Taylors show and I research her shows.
“For her Eras tour the production was amazing.
“She has got really good lyrics and I have learnt a lot in a year.”
Vikki wasn’t initially a ‘Swifty’ - the name given to hardcore fans of Taylor Swift - but realised that her voice suited the act.
She said: “Taylor Swift gets a lot of stick - and she was so big as a youngster.
“But she has loads of character and her shows are very theatrical for each different era.
“She has donated a lot of profit to foodbanks.”
Vikki became a seamstress unintentionally so as to make some of the costumes that she wears on stage.
She said: “My costumes are similar to Taylor’s.
“I wear sequin style dresses with diamanté.
“I bought some costumes too.”
Vikki earns a living as a tribute to Taylor and bought her own house in Liverpool.
She does fly outs to Belgium, Greece and Ireland and loves the audience interaction when she performs as Taylor.
She said: “They love Shake It Off and Love Story.
“Little girls are crying and there is so much hysteria.
“I know when I can stop singing and do the chants.”
Vikki’s act is the next best thing to seeing the real deal as tickets can cost up to £700 to see Taylor Swift perform.
She added: “Parents will spend it on a first concert.
“It is a one off.
“Girls at my concerts will want to trade bracelets - it is so nice to see.”
