Gosberton will not be served by Brylaine's B3 service following incident at the village
A bus service is altering its route this afternoon after road was closed due to sinkhole.
Brylaine says its B9 route will not be serving Gosberton after a truck was reported to become stuck in a sinkhole near the village's war memorial.
Lincolnshire County Council says it has sent an emergency crew to the site to make repairs.
A spokesperson said: "We have currently closed the road and have an emergency repair crew on site to assess the damage and hopefully find the cause.
"Because of the location of a water utility cover at the specific location that the sinkhole has emerged, we have also notified Anglian Water of the issue.
"We will continue our immediate investigation and work out what's happened and the best course of action to pursue in order to get the route re-opened as quickly as possible."
Police were called at 9.50am this morning to reports of the truck being stuck.
A spokesman said: "The lorry has since been recovered but a hole remains in the road.
"Highways are currently in attendance, one lane is currently closed on Gosberton High Street and we believe that traffic lights will be put in place shortly to control the flow of traffic."
Brylaine had earlier stated that it would be unable to serve Quadring, Donington and Bicker due to the incident.
The latest social media update from the firm states: "The B9 route will return to normal line of route, but the B3 will not serve Gosberton village, but continue to drop off and pick up at Wheelrite garage. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."
