Sixty-five years of happy marriage for Moulton Chapel sweethearts who met as babies
A lifelong love was celebrated by former Moulton Chapel couple Trevor and Maureen Dennis as they reached their 65th wedding anniversary.
The couple were together at Moulton Chapel School and then Gleed School in Spalding.
But their story started before that.
Trevor (87) said: "We knew each other from about seven months because we were both born in Moulton Chapel and our mothers took us down the same road in the pram."
Their anniversary, known as a blue sapphire, saw them receiving a card from the Queen and congratulations from the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Toby Dennis.
The couple have lived in Bedford for many years but retain strong links with family and friends here, which includes presiding over a reunion of the friends of the Dennis and Mason family every year.
The next one is at Moulton Chapel Community Centre on May 19, and anyone who knows them is invited.
Maureen (86), who was a Mason before marriage, trained as a nurse while her husband - born Ronald Trevor Dennis - went into the Navy.
He's known locally as Trevor while in Bedford he's known as Ron.
In 2017, the couple featured in our pages when they presented two commemorative benches to the beautiful octagonal church of St James in Moulton Chapel, where they were christened and married.
Trevor and Maureen have two children, Jacqui Woods, who lives in Pinchbeck, and Jeremy, who lives in Chester.
They enjoyed a party for family and friends at The Woodlands Hotel on their wedding anniversary, Good Friday.
Maureen said: "We regularly come back to see family and friends in the Spalding area. We love to see them and talk about the good times we've had and the people we've known. It's wonderful to celebrate 65 years of very happy marriage here in Spalding with the people we love."
