Skechers to double size of Spalding store at Springfields
Footwear retailer Skechers is doubling the size of its store at Springfields in a bid to meet increased demand.
The firm is set to have a 'completely new fit out' of its store - which will involve taking on the next door former Starbucks unit, which closed last month.
The expansion will mean that Skechers increases the size of its Spalding outlet by 107% - from 2,048 SqFt to 4,241 SqFt - and will be able to stock more designs and ranges.
Bosses at Springfields Outlet and Leisure say the centre is now 'trading up 14% against the pre-pandemic' period and that the spend per visitor is up 25%.
They hailed the recent arrival of The Parlour for 'adding a touch of luxury' - and point to attractions such as the children's park Adventure Lane and JCB Young Driver's Zone for contributing to its success.
On the back of this performance, bosses hope the £14 million expansion of Springfields - which won planning permission in 2020 - will be open next year.
Ian Sanderson, Director of Springfields Outlet and Leisure and SLR Outlets, said: "This year’s ongoing growth sets us up for the opening of Phase 3 next year with its 16 new stores, restaurants and cafés.”
