Smart new look for Alder Vets in Bourne Road, Spalding

A veterinary practice has a smart new look after three months of extensive renovations came to an end.

Alder Veterinary Practice, in Bourne Road, now has three operating tables, a new sterile prep room and a new further consulting room.

In addition - soon to be finished off - is a new separate waiting area. So dogs and cats can wait to be seen without worrying about the other!

"The practice had not really changed in 20 years," said manager Sally Twell. "Just a lick of paint every now and again.

"We had a huge operation theatre and it was a waste of the space, so clients are amazed to see it has now become two new rooms.

"People can't believe that it looks so new and fresh when they come in the door - the practice may have changed how it looks, but the staff and care remains the same as ever.

And new to the team is vet Peter Tomlinson, who is from the Deepings area and comes to Alder after working at a surgery in Peterborough, while head nurse Hayley Coleman returns after maternity leave. Peter's interests include diagnostic ultrasound and dental work.

"Our clients have been through a lot these past three months," said Sally. "We have stayed open throughout the works and there have been a lot of changes, so we thank them for their patience."

The practice - which also has a branch in Bourne - is planning an open day for visitors to check out the new-look surgery in the next few months.
