Smiling crowds support Moulton Chapel Tuliptime Parade
A popular village parade brought smiles all round – as it celebrated the area’s heritage at the weekend.
Moulton Chapel Tuliptime parade returned for it’s 48th year on Sunday (May 4).
The annual event, which celebrates the legacy of the Tulip industry, took place in the Community Hall and featured a range of activities for the family such as stalls to browse, free face painting for children, inflatables, crafts, open mic poetry reading, singing, samba drumming and live music.
Due to roadworks on Roman Road, this year’s parade was made shorter and started from Woodgate Road, along Roman Road, turning into Cekhira Avenue and returned back to Woodgate Road.
The fun filled day attracted crowds of families and residents who were able to admire the wonderful floats, walkers, vintage tractors, motorcars and decorated bicycles.
A scarecrow competition was also held in St James’ churchyard.
Can you spot yourself in the crowds? Here are some of the great snaps taken by our photographer, Chris Lowndes on the day…
