South Holland Army Cadets experience a successful camp
Army Cadets from Spalding and Holbeach have spent 11 days building up their skills at a training camp near Liverpool.
About 200 members of Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force (ACF), aged 13 to 17, took part in a training programme that included a day of water sports and working towards their Army Proficiency Certificates.
Corporal Arnas Neverauskas (17), of Spalding Army Cadets Detachment, said: "With my 18th birthday approaching rapidly, my time with the Cadets will soon come to an end.
"With this being my final annual camp, it made me realise how the ACF has changed my life for the better. and I’m very grateful to have been given the opportunity to build my leadership and team skills.
"I have enjoyed some amazing times and forged friendships that feel like they will last a lifetime."
Holbeach Detachment Commander Sergeant Instructor James Walsham said:
"This was my third annual camp with Lincolnshire ACF and it has been a cracker.
"Seeing cadets progress and becoming independent young people, often jumping into the unknown, has been incredible."
Colonel Jeremy Field, Commandant Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force, said:
"LCF Annual Camp 2018 at Altcar, near Liverpool, was a great success.
"The training programme was polished, progressive, comprehensively and professionally delivered by our excellent Adult Volunteers.
"The camp tempo was measured and I believe that we experienced a really happy, safe, enthusiastic and enjoyable camp."

Tyler Fletcher-Smith, a Cadet Sergeant at Holbeach, said: "This was also my third annual camp and, for me, it was the best.
"The way Adult Instructors have coordinated the training and kept spirits high has been really impressive.
"Helping 3 Company to bring home the silverware for winning the Drill and Fieldcraft competitions meant Annual Camp 2018 finished with a bang."

Colonel Field added: "Overall, almost 40 per cent of the Cadets who attended attained their next Army Proficiency Certificate star level and all grew in confidence.
"Once again, Lincolnshire ACF set a high standard and delivered a great Cadet Experience.
"As Commandant, it is a huge great privilege and honour to lead such a fantastic county."
