UPDATE: Broad Street, Spalding open again after unexplained death




Broad Street, Spalding has reopened again after being closed for more than six hours following this morning's (Thursday) unexplained death.

PREVIOUSLY: Police have confirmed that the man found on Broad Street in Spalding this morning has died.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Broad Street remains closed and a scene guard is in place while officers continue investigations.

The death is being treated as unexplained. A spokesman said: "Whilst it may be a medical episode, we are working to establish if there are any possible suspicious circumstances.

"The report came in at 6.32am. We are appealing to anyone who saw anything relevant at this time in the Broad Street area to call 101 with incident reference 49 of December 20.

PREVIOUSLY: Mystery surrounds the discovery of a man found with injuries in Broad Street this morning (Thursday).

The road is currently closed from New Road to Herring Lane after the man was found in the location with injuries and taken to hospital.

Staff in nearby shops told us they have heard nothing more surrounding the circumstances.

"The road was closed when I arrived for work this morning," one shopkeeper said. "I do not know anything more, other than that a man was found injured."

Officers are investigating the circumstances.
