Spalding High School teachers rewarded for Duke of Edinburgh Scheme work




Two teachers from Spalding High School travelled to St James' Palace in London to receive Duke of Edinburgh Award Long Service certificates.

Jason Martindale and Richard Garbett were introduced to Prince Edward at the event and thanked for their combined 42 years of voluntary service.

They have trained, supervised, assessed and ran the award at all levels at the High School.

The award ceremony involved many students from the central England area being presented with their Gold D of E Awards by Prince Edward and by the guest speaker Dame Sally Davies - the UK's chief medical officer.

Also receiving their Gold awards at the event were former High School students Tilly Gurney and Emily Gray.
