Pinchbeck Celebration of Life and fun dog show raised cash for cancer charities
Organisers of a special village fundraiser raised a staggering amount for charity over the weekend.
The ‘Celebration of Life’ event and fun dog show took place in and around Pinchbeck Community Hub and Library - and organisers are thrilled with how much money they raised.
Lisa Atkinson, one of the people behind the event, said: “ It went brilliantly!
“The weather did try to put a dampener on it - but all in all it went really well.
“We had a very good turnout and managed to raise just over £7,000.
“We would like to thank everyone who donated something for the raffle and all of the volunteers on the day. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have been able to do everything.”
Visitors to the event enjoyed a barbecue, variety of stalls, tombola, auction, a raffle and lots more.
A dog show also took part on the day which helped raise £250 to the overall total.
Helen Vaitkevicius, who hosted the dog show, said: “It went extremely well, the weather was a bit hit and miss but we are really pleased with how the event went.
“The event was held to support different cancer charities and for Barbara Camps who used to run Pinchbeck Community Hub.”
All of the money raised from this event will be going towards Macmillan, St Barnabas and Marie Curie - a trio of cancer causes.
Organisers hope to run another fundraiser in the future - which would include a sponsored pet walk to help raise more funds for those living with cancer.
