Pinchbeck Mothers' Union welcomes Spalding and Moulton groups to meet new president Rev Sylvia Rice-Oxley

A variety of Mothers’ Union groups congregated for what turned out to be a lovely afternoon.

Pinchbeck members hosted others from the likes Spalding and Moulton, with the new Dioscesan chairman the Rev Sylvia Rice-Oxley being introduced.

She delivered a speech about her early years and how she got involved with the church, with a short service also featuring some hymns and refreshments.

The new president’s husband was also on hand to play his guitar.

Pinchbeck member Pamela Portas said: “Everybody enjoyed it. That’s really what it was all about - and meeting other people in our district.”

A minute’s silence was also held in memory of Jean Thompson, while three new members were enrolled shortly afterwards.

The group’s next meeting is at Surfleet Park in August.
