Springfields expansion plan approved by district planning authority

Plans to expand Springfields Outlet and Leisure in Spalding, with the potential of creating up to 350 new jobs, have been approved tonight (Wednesday).

South Holland District Council's planning committee voted 13-2 in favour of a plan which will see the NFU Mutual offices, in Camelgate, replaced by so-called "comparison" retailers.

Part of the plan includes a £200,00 contribution towards improving Spalding town centre, as well as ways of publicising shops there at Springfields.
