Incident at Sutton Bridge's Lincolnshire Co-Op Food Store on Bridge Road leaves staff shaken

An incident at a town store has left staff 'shaken'.

Details of what occurred at the Lincolnshire Co-Op Food Store on Bridge Road yesterday evening have yet to be confirmed, and we are awaiting a response from Lincolnshire Police.

A Lincolnshire Co-op spokesperson said: "There was an incident at Sutton Bridge Food Store on the evening of Monday 13th June. We’re offering support to our colleagues, who are understandably shaken by the incident.

"We’re working with Lincolnshire Police on their investigations and encourage anyone with information to come forward. We aim to get the store back open as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers."

The incident on Bridge Road follows on from a robbery on the same street last week.

Officers said that City Stores was targeted between 8.20pm and 8.50pm on Thursday night.

They added that a man was threatened but not injured - and the offender left with cash and cigarettes.
