Smiles all round for students, staff and parents at Spalding High School
Successful students left Spalding High School leaders feeling delighted and proud after an impressive set of GCSE results.
It was smiles all round for the staff and students at the Stonegate school this morning, after many pupils achieved the grades they had been hoping for all summer.
Assistant Head Teacher Mr Blackbourn said: “We are delighted over how our students have performed, especially for a year group that have been disadvantaged by Covid.
“We have wonderful individuals which we are so proud of and as a school we have achieved a 100% pass rate in maths this year as well.”
Evie Duffill (16), of Spalding, achieved 9 grades in Biology, Geography, French, Religious and Business – with 8s, 7s and 6s in her other subjects.
Evie said: “I am very happy with my results as I can now go to sixth form. I have achieved the grades I needed to get in and I did revise a lot which has paid off.
“I plan to go on and study Religious Studies, French and Psychology at sixth form which I am looking forward to and then go on to do Speech and Language Therapy at uni.”
Ellen White (16), of Crowland, was ‘pleasantly surprised’ when she opened her GCSE results this morning.
She said: “I think my results are pretty decent to be honest, I am pleasantly surprised. They have exceeded my expectations.”
Matylda Nadoiska (16), of Spalding, was happy to achieve a grade 6 in English Language, History, English Literature, Religious and Business along with a grade 5 in Maths and Geography and a grade 4 in French.
Matylda said: “I am really happy as I got everything I needed to go to sixth form and study Law, Psychology and Business. I was stressing the night before though.”
Elizabeth Neal (16) of Spalding is looking forward to starting her level 3 Health and Social Care course at Riseholme Lincoln Agricultural College in September.
“I was really anxious leading up to the results but I tried my hardest overall. I think I could have done better but I am able to get into the college I want so I’m happy.”
