A17 closed between Gedney and Fleet after collision between car and motorbike

A stretch of the A17 is closed between Gedney and Fleet after a serious accident this evening and local roads are clogged up while motorists take diversion routes.

The road is closed at Washway Road both ways between Churchgate and Lowgate, creating severe delays.

Police closed the stretch at 5.30pm after the collision between a car and a motorbike, which was reported at 4.33pm.

Traffic is queueing through Gedney on one side of the A17 and Gedney Dyke on the other side.

Emergency services have been on the scene and the air ambulance was seen in the area.
