Pinchbeck Morrisons will double the size of filling station shop and install electric vehicle charging points
A supermarket has been given the green light to double the size of its filling station shop and install electric vehicle charging points
The Pinchbeck Morrisons store will also install new jet wash bays after receiving planning permission from South Holland District Council.
Full plans include the removal of existing two jet wash bays and recycling point in order to make space for: three electrical vehicle charging points, six electrical vehicle charging bays, a canopy, three new jet wash bays, an air/water and vacuum unit and bay, one parking space and the extension to the existing petrol filling station sales building.
The gross external area of the sales building on the Wardentree Lane site is 70sqm, with permission granted for it to extend to 143sqm.
“The proposed changes are within the area surrounding the store, and represent minor changes to the external area of the filling station and car parking areas,” the SHDC planning officer report explains.
“There is no significant adverse effect on the street scene.
“Whilst there will be a change to the layout, that change is not out of character or out of keeping.”
The report also says these changes will be environmentally friendly.
“The proposals modernise this part of the site and are beneficial in terms of helping to achieve net zero, so are positive in terms of providing infrastructure for ultra low emission vehicles,” it added.
“The proposals will be appropriately lit and do not raise anti social behaviour concerns.”
