Sutton Bridge Cross Keys Bridge 'on target to be finished on time'
Motorists have been assured that the major project at Cross Keys Bridge is on course to be completed in a couple of weeks.
A £1.5 million project to paint and repair the 1897 Sutton Bridge structure has been ongoing since February - and has caused tailbacks on the A17 while traffic management measures have been in place.
Overnight closures are all finished now - and bosses have confirmed that the scheduled end date of July 1 is still the target.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council said: “It’s all on schedule – we’ve had nothing to extend the dates so far."
The council's ambition was to finish the project in time for the school summer holidays - with the route a key road for traffic heading to the north Norfolk coast.
The official diversion route is via the A17, A1101 and A47.
