Sutton St James Parish Council opposes changes at "noisy" kennels

Councillors oppose changes to planning consent at a kennels because they say residents are already disturbed by noise.

Beverley Street, of Broadgate, was given planning consent in 2015 for the kennels at her home.

She's applied to modify the consent, removing the maximum limit of 18 dogs and removing a "non commercial use" clause to allow her to have a dog breeding licence.

Several councillors commented on noise made by the dogs, and parish council chairman Bill Harrison said: "I think everyone in the village can hear them."

Coun Andrew French said "I don't know what breed of dogs they are but there is no need for them to kick off like they do."

Members agreed to object to any change in consent being approved by South Holland District Council.

District councillor Michael Seymour has already objected, and requested the plan is considered by South Holland's planning committee.
