Take a sneak peek inside the Pudding Hut in Spalding ahead of the re-opening

Chocolate bar shakes, fresh crepes and classic English puddings are on the menu at a former ice-cream shop – which is set to re-open later this week after undergoing a renovation.

Becca’s Ice Cream Parlour on Holland Market in Spalding has recently undergone a re-brand after closing at the end of December last year.

The establishment, which will now be called ‘Pudding Hut’, is set to open this Friday (January 31) with a new menu for customers to try out.

Previous owner Rebecca Turner announced she would be taking a step back for ‘personal reasons’ in a social media post earlier in the year.

The business will now be run by sister Vickie Turner, 25, who will be leaning into her love of puddings. She said: “A lot of people thought we shut for good so we want to get the word out there that we are just re-branding.

“I am more of a pudding person, so I wanted to lean into that a bit more – I like the classics and UK favourites such as sticky toffee pudding and tiramisu.

“We are hoping it will be a place for people to come after having a meal out in the town or school kids visiting with friends. We want to be creative with it and I feel excited and nervous – I hope people will like it and want to come here.

“We are hoping to open on Friday if I can get everything sorted in time. We still have the menu tasting, food preparation, staff training and work on the back counter to do before we can welcome customers.”

The shop will still be serving ice cream, but on a smaller scale.

Some of the options on the chilled puddings menu include trifle, lemon meringue, cheesecake, knickerbocker, tarts and lots more. The shop will also be serving fresh crepes and waffles and a range of hot puddings such as crumble and sponge cakes.

Customers can expect a selection of new drinks such as the chocolate bar shakes which can be made with a variety of well known brands like, Dairy Milk, Mint Aero, KitKat and Milky Bar.

There will also be board games, colouring pencils and books available for families and children.

Vickie added: “We’re introducing something new to get customers involved. We will have a picture frame on the wall filled with pictures of customers who have enjoyed their visit – they can ask us to be part of it or we’ll approach them.”

Pudding Hut will also be installing a baby changing unit in the bathroom as part of the new revamp.
