Take your first look inside Glen Holme Care Home, which sits on the old site of The Birds pub
A flashy new care home is gearing up for its opening date.
Glen Holme Care Home, which sits on Halmer Gate in Spalding, has been under construction for the past 18 months and is now going through its final preparations.
Its managers are looking to provide something different to the norm when residents start to move in.
Care homes don't have the most positive of connotations, but manager Jude Reeve and deputy manager Ashley Warner are trying to change that.
"Let's be honest - no one really wants to come to a care home," Jude says.
"So they might as well come and live somewhere that's lovely and comfortable!"
There will be a wide range of activities on offer at Glen Holme when it has officially opened.
These will include a fully functioning bar, a number of lounges, an upcoming bistro bar and a nail salon.
There will even be an adventure golf course and a bowls green outside.
Jude says the home is just waiting on the "rubber stamp" before they officially open to the public - but they won't be rushing to fill their rooms.
"We're going to slow-fill our rooms over the first couple of months," she says.
"It's all about making sure people are as comfortable as possible. We need to do everyone justice.
"It all looks lovely internally, but it's not the same without the residents. They give the building life, so we're really looking forward to welcoming them."
The care home has been built on the site of what used to be The Birds pub, and it has a very modern feel to it.
All rooms are fitted out with their own televisions and en-suite bathrooms, while you could be forgiven for thinking the shared outdoor areas are part of a restaurant chain.
When families come to visit their loved ones, they will be treated to their favourite music through state-of-the-art speakers.
On top of that, Jude's two pet dogs will be on hand to greet everyone at the care home.
"They come to work with me every day," she says. "The residents will love them."
Nobody looks forward to moving into a care home, but Jude and Ashley have worked hard to make things here as exciting as possible.
